hey guys
so i'm working on my senior thesis, and its going to be about pc building, so i need a quick survey or answer to this question
What was the most difficult part on building your first computer, was it research, finding parts, or what things did, or something else?

The first one?
Managing the optimal order of things in the boot.ini file, and the difference between extended memory and expanded memory. :??:

My full thesis project is graphic design related, i'm trying to find out common area problems that people have including my own judgement on first time pc builders and how to make the whole pc building process smoother and less intimidating. Perhaps survey was a poor word, but i simply wanted to get a small taste of what other peoples problems were.

Mine? Soldering all those wires to all those bus slots and front panel switches. When you built an Altair you really BUILT your computer 😀

Today, the actual hardest part is picking a balanced parts list within a particular budget.
"I want 150FPS in BF1, and I have $378."
or
"Recommend me a system for MS Office and web browsing. I think I need an i7-6700k and 64GB RAM"

The actual construction can be done by a semi-intelligent 13 year old who can read and follow directions
