[SOLVED] Your opinions on my first build

Hello, i would like to ask for your opinions and suggestions for my first build. I've been browsing forums and markets for a few days and came up with these parts. This pc is for gaming only, im not expecting 144fps on AAA games since its a budged build( i am planning to buy a 144 monitor for games like cs:go) . I would like to hear your opinions and suggestions about this build, maybe you could recommend some alternative parts. Thanks you.



Intel MSI B365M MORTAR motherboard


I5-8400 (6/6) @2.4Mhz (Max turbo freq. 4.00Mhz) "stock cooling since i have no clue about overclocking"


Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz C16 Memory


Asus Strix r9 380 - 4GB "already own on old pc"


Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD


For power suply my current 650W "already own"

So you only currently have the gpu and psu? Haven't bought any other parts?

I would recommend a ryzen build if you haven't bought anything yet.

The 8400 is ok, but depending what your paying for it, the 3600 is better.

I'd highly recommend a 3600/b450 MAX board, and 3200 or faster ram. It should be roughly the same price. If not cheaper.

I like my samsung drives, but you get save some money by grabbing a cheaper unit. Its doubtful youd notice any actual difference in any tasks, other than benchmarks.

Wdblue are cheaper and really good. Or at least mine has been great. There's other more affordable brands as well.

Thanks for your reply, im really interested now in ryzen 5 3600 and b450 max you recommend, it seems the price is quite the same and it is better performance wise (as far as my understanding goes, (wich is not that far).

And fir my psu i will post the detail when im home from work, sorry i didnt mention it earlyer, its 1yr old psu but i dont remember the name.
