Hello all,

This error has just popped up on my boot screen. It was working fine yesterday with no errors...

This first image is the exact screen that shows...

This second image is my BIOS options and mobo model...

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I must complete a college assignment.

That BSOD says you can access the computer (Boot configuration data error), you may not access Windows (HDD) but you can probably run bootable disks and the Startup Repair. The error # is related to drivers or hardware...
1. For drivers; you can logon in safe mode and try updating drivers, run a disk check, run a startup repair.
2. For hardware which includes the HDD (and main cause for the error code); remove any recently added devices and if all your HW seems to be running normally, the HDD remains as the only probable cause, so a disk check should be performed and a startup repair for Windows errors and drivers.

"You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media." In other words, get a windows disk or make a bootable usb, go to repair, let it do it's thing. But the only reason it would have gotten corrupted is from malware or hardware issue.

You don't necessarily need a Windows 8 install media to perform an Automatic Repair... Windows may keep the installation files in the Recovery Partition. Check full instructions.

I still don't see how I can possibly run the computer in any mode. I don't get the option to do that.

As far as refreshing my PC goes. I have a bootable external HDD with 8.1 installation utility loaded. I'm presented with three options...
1. Refresh your PC
2. Reset your PC
3. Advanced options
- Adv. options contains the following
+ System Restore
+ System Image Recovery
+ Start-up Repair
+ CMD Prompt

Before I hit the obvious 'Refresh' button, should I choose any of those options stated above?

Kind Regards

Hey... sorry for leaving you on your own this long but seems that we are on diferent time zones and it was my time for some shut eye.

There's no such thing as resolving itself... you probably did it. According to your initial image, it was a bootloader error, and such errors are fixed with a startup repair and such repairs don't always work the 1st time and you have to run it more than once... Bootrec followed by a bootloader repair command also fixes boot errors, so that was probably what did it.

Ah right. I'm just so glad it's resolved. Thank you and everyone else for their contributions.
