Does this sound like a reasonable build?
I currently would like to use this system as a gaming machine, word processor, watching movies/listening to music.
Games I play : Counter-Strike, Fallout, Team Fortress 2, Battlefield 2...

I will be using a hp 24" monitor with 1920x1200 resolution.

I am also interested in case suggestions. With the above components I am currently at $595.

I plan on purchasing this upcoming week.
Thank you all for your time!

Spend an extra $10 and get the 1GB version of the HD 4870.

If you could stretch the budget by $60 more I'd suggest a 650TX PSU and GA-EP45-UD3P. That way you can add a second video card later. You'll need it in that sort of games at 1920x1200. The overclocking is better on that board too, and it also adds other features.

Antec 300 is a pretty good case for low budgets.

Nice build. :) I would switch RAM though to something with better timings and lower latency...something that's fast and won't hold back your overclock.

Appreciate the responses!
I took both of your responses and decided to stretch a little bit.
I believe I will pull the trigger on everything soon.
I added the thermal paste,
added this mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128358
added the G-Skill memory instead of corsair and changed to the 650TX

Also added the antec 300

I believe this looks to be a solid setup, any other opinions?
Thank you again for the time.

$655 - $50 MIR + tax + shipping

Given your budet, I think this would give a better foundation. If you want a faster GPU though, the 1GB Sapphire 4870 is $190, but other than that, I don't think anything in between would really be worth it. I like the XMS2 ram in an AMD system with a black edition processor since you don't have to touch the memory to OC the CPU.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341010 600W OCZ $70 - $20MIR is an alternative. Your on a budget and it gets the job done for $30 less.

Given your $600 budget, I would go with the 9800GT now and upgrading the GPU down the road, but the 4870 is worth the money.
