Storage always seems to be an issue for crafters.

So, what about having a "Warehouse Operator" profession off the Merchant
tree (or something like that)

1. Architects can craft the warehouse.

2. The warehouse would take 4lots. This gives this profession enough lots to
own a max of 2 warehouses and still have 2 free lots for placing a private
house and/or harvester - still giving this profession some flexability).
3. The warehouse(s)can only be placed in a player city. Mayor to determine
tax. The players/renters who use the warehouse(s) pay maintenance/rent to
the "Warehouse Operator" and the "Warehouse Operator" pays maintenance for
the overall Warehouse/tax.

4. A warehouse could hold up to 2000 items in total. 4 separate rooms of 500
and you can only rent one room per warehouse. Players/renters of the
Warehouse have total admin of thier rooms.

5. If the warehouse operator who either leaves the game, changes profession,
or weekly maintenance hasn't been paid - an email goes to the renters of
this, or that rent has not been paid and the warehouse will totally decay in
4 weeks unless (intervention) the warehouse operator either pays maintenance
or transfers the structure to another warehouse operator who will maintain
it. This allows renter not to get stuck when players leave or change
professions.

6. A warehouse cannot be deleted/redeeded until the all the rooms have been
emptied. A Warehouse Operator cannot vacate a "Paying" renter/player unless
there has been no activity (items in or out of that room) withing the last 4
weeks.

Well maybe not a whole tree but maybe something in the merchant tree. One
skill.

They need to just give us more room. Why can I only put a couple backpacks
in my houses? That's lame. If you got a vendor you can put as many items as
you want on there. Almost every house has a vendor just for storage reasons.

I like it. Make it a skill that comes with merchant. Try posting your idea
on the official forums.

I like it too!!!

I always seem to run the limit of items.

As a result my houses are containing absolutely no furnitue .. only
backpacks with subparts and it bothers me.

I don't think it would be much fun to play one of these do you??? I
mean really..... How much fun is the job lf that guy that runs the
local mini-storage place in your town????

I think the storage problem would be better solved by allowing a
million unit stack of most items. Hell the developers should have
recognized this in the early stages of developement! But then as most
developers are shortsighted and egotistic tyrants.... it doesn;t
surprise me that this is a problem.... and if they ever do address it
they will totally screw it up to the point that the entire storage
system will have to be re-worked at some point in the future!

Actually, I'd like for my merchant to be able to do something like
this, but doing it would depend on how many lots it'd take and whether
the owner could place vendors inside.

Well, I could be wrong too! :)
