I've been having a really weird problem when I watch YouTube on my pc. Basically, whenever I play a video it buffers quickly like the grey bar jumps really far out and creates a sizeable gap over where I'm currently at on the video but then it just stops moving. When the red bar catches up to the grey bar, the circle buffering animation pops up and still doesn't load however if you press pause it does load but you go through the same thing all over again. I have a 25 mbps connection (speedtest.net) and I only stream 1080p but the same thing still happens even if I choose 360p. I can also easily watch 4k on the YouTube app on my phone and my pc is connected to the Wi-Fi wirelessly through a USB adapter.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Use Task Manager and Resource Monitor to observe system performance when using YouTube. Use both tools but only one at a time.

What browser(s) do you use?

Compare performance parameters to those when other, not YouTube, video sites are accessed.
