what are youtube minimum sytem requirements ? I am asking because on a laptop 10 yo old with a 2 gb ram & ssd, dual core cpu and integrated gpu I have lag. thanks.

For starters you could open up the Task Manager and display the Performance tab. Then when videos are lagging you can look at each item in the tab and see how its performing. CPU running at high usage percentage; you many need to consider a newer CPU or laptop. Memory usage at a high percentage; can you add more? Wifi or network usage at a high percentage; can you change that with new hardware. The same goes for GPU usage percentage; another indication that you may need a new laptop. Is it just one item or all of them?

most likely your issue is the resolution of the video. i have an old netbook with similar specs and it can't handle HD video at all. but if i can switch it to SD, then no issues. works the same with netflix. HD and it locks up but at SD, it works fine.

that would be my first check to get better results. usually lower right of the video has the option to switch it from HD to a lower resolution.

In a case like this click on the gear such to bring up the resolutions and go to the lowest and work upwards till you get the lag. You may have to keep the screen size default/small.

From what I am aware I don't think YT has a minimum requirement so much as a machine new enough to have a supported browser. In other words, even if you had some old Pentium system you may not be able to download a new enough browser to be supported outside of the actual hardware support.

My 18yo laptop has been upgraded to W10 (32-bit), T7400 Core2 Duo, SSD and 3GB of RAM (I installed 4GB RAM but the old chipset only recognize 3GB). I can watch Youtube with Firefox at 720p without problem.

I believe that my laptop should run just fine with 2GB RAM because the amount of RAM in use is usually 60% of the total RAM. The 32-bit version of W10 is really light on RAM.
