Question YouTube not playing. Large distorted player screen.

About a week ago tried watching a video on YT. As soon as I opened site I noticed the thumbnails were oversized and the player was distorted. Tried the fixes online- extensions etc but nothing works. Really appreciate some advice.

Hi and first off thanks for the advice.
I did try another browser, chrome and Microsoft- i was on explorer originally.
Updated drivers as well.
I cleared cookies, went through all extensions one at a time to make sure none of these were the cause.
I just can't get yt to run.
I can watch yt videos through for example bling just not direct.
Like I said I'm completely stumped! Thanks again.

FYI: if you are on Windows 10 version 2004, make sure you have got the latest fix KB4565503, as there is a fix for some apps having visual distortion. See info here:

Hey, nope that dint help either. I am not getting any message just an oversized player screen/window that doesn't respond. YT videos will, play through another service such as FB or Bling just not directly from the YT site.
