On YouTube, I want the left arrow on my keyboard to jump the video back and the right arrow on my keyboard to jump the video forward.
I want the up arrow to turn up the volume and down arrow to turn the volume down.
But the keyboard arrow controls seem to be dependent on where the last focus was. For instance, I press the up arrow on my keyboard expecting my volume to increase but the video time jumped forward instead.

This has been annoying me for more years than I'll admit. Is there some setting I can use to to kill this annoyance?

Thanks for the response, but I don't think I explained it correctly.
I don't want to have to select the seek bar or volume bar. I want the left and right keyboard arrows to always control the seek bar and up/down arrows to always control the volume.

I am also not aware of a way to do what you want without actually being "clicked" on the video. Left and Right arrows are only seek, not FF or Rew. functions. I don't even think using those media buttons built into several of my keyboards will go to the next video...(one moment)

edit- yes the only media button that works on my logi craft or logi K (wireless) is pause. I will say that I do not use the companion software from Logitech and it may allow something like that. I know it can be used to block certain functions that bring up Copilot or the Preview Screen thing...but that is getting into a whole other subject.

I notice when I watch a youtube video to have those arrows work as your asking is start the video than pause the video some where in the video with your mouse not the pause button.

Click the video again to start it with your mouse again when clicking in the video.

Now the space bar and the arrow keys function as wanted.
