Question YouTube Resolution Issue

Here's my problem. Whenever I post a video on youtube and watch it through to check for any final errors, I can't get the resolution of the video to go up past 480p, even though I record my videos in 1080p and export them in 1080p. What am I doing wrong? Is it my recording software or editing software or something else. I use OBS to record and Sony Vegas Movie Studio 16 for editing.

How quickly are you checking the video after you post it? I've seen it take up to an hour after posting before higher than 480p quality even shows up.

Check your settings for export on Sony Vegas Movie Studio 16 or try exporting it from Vegas to a random file on your computer check it to make sure it is 1080p then upload it to YouTube.

Okay, I think I narrowed down the problem. I believe that it is my recording software. when I go to watch my recordings, even before I have put them into sony vegas thy seem to have a bad resolution. I'll try to look into this a bit more. I don't think it is because of my connection either cus it's only my videos that I have an issue with resolution, no others.

nvm, it wasn't the recording software, it must be sony vegas, I'll play around with it and try to fix it.
