z170/DDR4 which intel processors would be best?

Thank you for taking the time to look through my question? I am a first time pc builder and was wondering i have a z170 and ddr4 ram 8g but I was orginally going to get the intel i7 4790k but found out that it doesnt supoort ddr4. Correct me if I am wrong. Therefore would like information on which Intel processors would be my best choice?

The only processors currently supported on the LGA1151/Z170 platform are the i5-6600K and the i7-6700K.

There should be more Skylake chips (Celeron/Pentium/i3 etc.) turning up soon, but I'm not sure exactly when.

Thank you very much. That confirms my problem. I do have another has there been a release date for the i5-6600K and the i7-6700K.

They should be available now.

Newegg says the i5 at least is in stock.

Doesn't look like the i7 is available quite yet.

Which would you prefer i5 or i7? I have already decided and researched personally just like to get other point of views.

I heard August 14th was the actual release date of those 2 Skylake CPU's... so tomorrow.
