Z170 extreme4 problems

Hi there,

Im seeking help with my new build. I just purchased an asrock z170 extreme4 mobo with a 6600k cpu, 16gb ddr4 2400mhz, and its (so far) been nothing but problems with windows 7. Ok so ive got it running after much hassle with missing drivers for usb controllers ect, but now it bluescreens every time i put in anything usb 2.0. My card reader after inserting an sd card (internal), usb wifi dongle, usb sticks, etc. Is this incompatibility with windows 7, or is there something that can be done? Strange enough my keyboards work flawlessly. Ive been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what to do.... usually there's 5 different ways to work around a problem, but this one's really got me.

Have you updated all the drivers? The ones that come with the driver disk are usually outdated, and Windows 7 no longer supports driver updates. You might try using Slimdrivers to update everything, saves the hassle of finding them all individually.

Thanks mate yeah that was the problem. I got the new ones from the asrock site, and its all running fine. Makes me wonder why they even bother putting a driver disc in with the boards....
