So basicaly i had a problem at first with my ports stopped working when i get out of bios and into the installation but you just gotta change something into the bios supporting the windows7 installation however then when i tried to install it and so on the installer just tells me that i don't have the cd/dvd drivers or something around those lines. What can i do? I looked up skylake motherboards not really being on par with windows7 because of reasons, however there has to be a way to skip these errors or bypass them? I've tried installing windows 7 with usb and portable cd/dvd reader. I much much prefer windows 7 over windows 10 so I would really like to see a fix to this.

I have a maximus hero VIII and had same problem, the way to install for me was windows on a usb stick and then you need to have mobo disc that comes with mobo in dvd drive for it needs to get access to the drivers from disk, seems the mobos do not have the required drivers to install 7 without dvd .

But for me 7 ran like grabage and had to upgrade to 10 for much better performance.

But yeah win 7 on usb stick and then asus dvd in drive where it gets drivers, the installation takes ages but you can do it that way.
