I just recently bought me some new parts for a pc and after getting everything put together, it won't show on the screen. The ez dialog leds go from CPU quickly to dram for a couple seconds and then goes off. What do I need to do?
Maybe you have the RAM in the wrong slot. You have to have it in a certain order listed in the manual.
yeah, it told me to put the ram in dimm slots 2 and 4 first so I did that. I tried putting it in slot 2 alone, then I went 1 3 4 and it's still not working.
your problem is that you have a z170 motherboard and you need a z270 motherboard. the only way the z170 will work is if you have a Skylake(i#-6###) cpu in it first and flash it for the cpu you have (kaby lake i#-7###)

Well shoot. Alright, I'll give that a shot and see if I have better luck. I get back at this thread if it does or does not. Thanks for the help

yes, but that one is a micro-itx which is smaller than your z170 which is micro-atx. if you want the exact same motherboard as that z170 but that works with your cpu, this is it...

Looks good. After I get the money to buy it, I test it out and see if that works. I be sure to keep the thread updated. Thanks again.

Thank you! It took me a little bit to buy because I had other things I needed to take care of first, but I finally got the new motherboard put in and everything works fine.
