Z270 mobo around 140-180usd

Im planning on updating CPU 6700k + Ram 2x8gb3200 + Motherboard
I have a gtx970 that will be updated soon in 2-3 months

I dont know which mobo do I have to choose that fits here. I was looking at MSI z270 m3 and the Asus z270 prime A

Not sure, any other option? Focused on gaming nothing else.

I own this one. It kicks butt. A very good overclocking mb if you are into that. I had exactly 0 problems with the install. It is in your price range.

Though the MSI mb that you mentioned while a bit more expensive come with a free game at Newegg. So maybe go with that one and get the game too.

No point upgrading from a 6700k, you're only getting extremely minimal clock speed improvements and little to no IPC gain, it's a waste of money.
What's your current mobo, and what is your monitor situation?
I'd go with a 1080 Ti and 1440p 144hz monitor.

I think he is just upgrading the motherboard and has the other parts. With the gpu somewhere down the line. At least that is how I read it. You might be right though.

I upgraded my puny little i5 6600k mb(it games great though), because the old mb started to have some issues. now I am waiting for the i5 6 core that may or may not be in the pipeline, that is rumored to fit this socket.

It won't, that'll be on the Coffee lake enthusiast socket.
You should probably wait for Coffee lake to release and get a 8700k or whatever it's going to be called, assuming that's going to be backwards compatible given the same socket.
