I just bought new parts so everything that is in the computer apart from the case and the SSD (SSD functioned perfectly 10 minutes prior to building), so there shouldnt be issues with any of them being faulty (unless I messed up)

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xf7rr6
CPU: Intel i7-7700K 4.2Ghz
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: ASUS Z270H
GPU: Asus - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB Dual Video Card
SSD: Kingston 240GB
PSU: Corsair VS550W

What I actually hear is a sound similar to something being stuck on a loop rather quietly, the DRAM LED is on (orange)

I have tried:
1. Booting with one stick, no sticks, in all slot combinations
2. Unplugging then pressing the power supply button for a minute
3. Checking the CPU for any bends
4. Disassembling everything and reassembling
and some other random things : i.e. a Youtube video said one problem is when the CPU power cable is the wrong way around but here, there is no "wrong way" to put it.

I am more than lost at this point. All the fans work, the motherboard lights are on glowing red so I think that means its not fried? I dont know what to do.

Edit: Also there is no MemOK button on this motherboard

Make sure that you're properly inserting the RAM stick. Some require more force.
If still no go, try posting here a picture of the CPU socket. But I'd say that you have to properly insert the RAM.

Incredible that that was the problem. I've built two computers before; neither of them required me to push so hard as to make the motherboard bend like an arch momentarily.. DDR4 makes the difference?
