Z370 motherboards sufficient for 9th Gen Intel

I currently have an 8700k running with a Gigabyte Gaming 7. I attempted to get a high end board for preparation to handle 8 overclocked cores for 9th gen. So question is, will this motherboard's VRM be able to handle 8 cores at an assumed 5+Ghz? My VRM temps have never reached 70 on my current setup with the 8700k at 5Ghz. So I assume I have enough headroom. If not though, I'd like to sell it now, ASAP, while it might still be worth something.

I'm not sure anyone can answer that, officially. Usually as core count goes up frequency goes down. Overclocking is another matter entirely. If I double the wattage of an overclocked quad core on the same process node, it should come out around 300W. Plenty of boards out there that should be able to handle 300W, they might not stay a cool 70C though.

Considering the launch is expected to include a Z390 chipset they might be changing the available power pins again.
