Z370P D3 Motherboard not booting with two sticks of RAM (XMP Enabled, BIOS updated)

I recently updated my CPU, which meant updating my MOBO and RAM, which I had to do in increments because I do not get a whole lot of money.

I got a Z370P D3 mobo, Intel I5-8400 CPU and two sticks of Corsair Vengence 2400 DDR4 RAM.

I assemble the machine and it won't boot due to memory issues.
Each stick works fine in all the slots.

I enable XMP.
Memory issues.

I update the BIOS and ensure the XMP is still enabled.
Memory issues.

I'm really at a loss and don't really know what to do. This is kind of my big purchase for the year and it's gone to hell.

Find attached pictures of Both sticks of RAM and the BIOS screen that (hopefully) illustrate I'm not a massive tool.

Solution
First off, you purchased two individual 8 GB sticks of RAM. They are not a matched set. They are not on the QVL list for supported memory for your motherboard.

The picture of your UEFI shows only one stick of 8GB DDR4 RAM.

There is always a risk that unmatched RAM will not work together. My suggestion would be to return the RAM for one set of a matched set of 2 x 8 GB.

Alternately make sure that the sticks that you have are in different color coded slots. Or just use the one stick in slot 1.

So. Yeah.... I think this is the issue. Which, I guess just means my machine has 1 stick of RAM now because man can I not afford anymore.

I can't return them both because I bought one stick of RAM in April then needed to save until June to buy the other and it now falls outside of the return window to do anything.

Thanks.

But as an aside, if my machine won't boot with two sticks, how am I gonna get a picture of the UEFI with two sticks. That was just to show the XMP and BIOS version.

As I mentioned, try them singly in two different color coded slots . This is as if you are using two single channel sticks of RAM. It may work or it may not. But that is the only way to use both sticks now.

It is rejecting the two stick as matched memory dual channel. So try them as single channel.

I'd already tried them in both their dual channel slots in both orders and it wasn't having any of it. I'm confident each slot works individually, as well as both sticks working individually. I'll get my refund on one and I guess wait another two months and throw this one other stick away when I upgrade again.
