Using an MSI Z390 motherboard, i7 8700K cpu, and am having difficulty installing a new NVMe m2 drive. The existing drive is an older SATA ssd drive, the new drive is meant for larger storage and game speed.

Windows 10 Home installed on a WDC wds100t2b0a-00sm50 drive along with other games and software. The new drive is a Silicon Power 2TB NVMe M.2. When I install the new drive in the M2 slot, the older WDC drive is no longer found in the bios from bootable devices. I have to uninstall the new drive, reboot to the bios, and reset everything to default to boot into Windows. Not sure if it is something I am doing wrong or not.

I have physical and coordination problems from a coma I had in 2015, any help is appreciated more than I can communicate.

Check to see if using one of the SATA plugs is an if/then for availability of the M.2.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Which SATA port is the older SSD hooked up to? What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard? Speaking of motherboard's, is this the board you're working with;

?
I cannot tell which SATA port, the PC was a prebuilt Cyberpower, and the cable routing is convoluted. Looks like I would have to disassemble a good portion of things to track down the connection spots as the SATA cable goes behind a panel. The BIOS version is E7B98IMS.160. (3/19/2019)

Could the SATA port the older drive is using be interfering with the M2 drive within the BIOS? I am only very moderately understanding of computer components, am I drawing the wrong conclusion with the questions that were asked?
