[SOLVED] z390 Designaire PCIe slot bandwidth: Does x4 slot affect x16 slot?

Here's what the manual calls the slots and what info it gives:
"Expansion Slots 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
* For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed,
be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x8 (PCIEX8)
* The PCIEX8 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX16 slot. When the PCIEX8 slot is
populated, the PCIEX16 slot operates at up to x8 mode.
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)"

So... what if you keep the "PCIEX8" slot empty, but have cards in the x16 and x4 slot? Does the x16 slot still run at x16 in that case? ...and the x4, does it run at x4? Thanks !

Thanks. That's what I was thinking based on that. I was just wanting extra confimation, like if someone had tested it with the middle x8 slot empty, and the other two populated...to comfirm in that case that the x16 slot stays in x16 mode.
