hi

I was going for the ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO (WI-FI) but i read it has issues with screws and vrm and that it cant handle the new 9th generation processors.

When i wanted to check on other brands i read that they too have issues. The msi and gigabyte. I dont remember their issues since reading all the issues made my head heat up.

Ive been researching what parts to buy for my first desktop computer. I ve been using laptop for long. Its been ages since my last desktop computer.

I wanted to go with the ROG MAXIMUS X FORMULA but changed my mind because of the water block did not have nickel coating and I got scared of the water cooling. Now i am not sure what to go for after i read the news on z390 motherboard issues.

Which motherboard you would recommend? and why?

I want to use the computer for gaming, gaming(FPS and sometimes MMO) and maybe i would try streaming. Never done streaming before.
The parts that i might go for:

Here i found one. Its just 1 reply which doesnt prove anything.
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3863889/asus-z390-motherboards.html

But there are more. There are comments as well in amazon. When i researched deeper into it I read one nice article where someone had to change a specific z390 motherboard twice. Its written in tomshardware. As well comments thag they failed sooner than expected.

Yeah, anecdotal at best - " plenty of tests " but no links to a single one.
Not saying they're necessarily wrong, but without substantiating the claim, I'd be doubtful.

As far as I know, RMA rates are no better, no worse as a whole for Z390 vs anything predating it.

For a specific board, I've heard nothing bad about the XI Hero, other than it's price.
