I have a Z68MA-G45 (B3) mainboard with an Intel Core i3 3240 processor and a RaidMax ATX12V 380W power supply. I've also installed 2 DDR3 1333Mhz PC3-10600 1.5V Dual Channel memory. With no other components attached, and even with the memory removed, whenever i plug in the power supply and press the power button, the fans come on for a few seconds, i hear 3 beeps, and then the system shuts off just to cycle through the process again. All the parts i'm using are brand new, and last i check all of the parts were compatible to work with each other.

I don't know what to do, there isn't even a video signal to the VGA monitor i've got attached. I've got an external graphcis card, but i'm not sure adding it on would fix the problem.

The sticker on the bottom of the motherboard says august of 2011. Does the manufacture date have any effect on processor support?

Yes, as the IB processor is supported starting with the BIOS version released in May 2012.
You need a supported CPU for updating the BIOS or try contacting MSI or the retailer and see if they can help.

the processor is listed on the MSI website as being compatible with this motherboard. is there any other way i can get the computer to boot to a place that will allow me to update the bios? all the parts are brand new but i need to get this working as soon as possible.
