Hello Tom's hardware community,

I've built my rig aprox 3 years ago, and the best memmory was avaibiable or I could afford back then was a 1600 Mhz speed.

I am planning on upgrading the RAM but I'm not sure now will it work on this motherboard.
I've looked on the ASrock's page memmory support list and it's not listed there, but in fact, they have only a few (4 to be exact) RAM Modules listed on their list with 2400 Mhz speed, that will support this MB.

Well, I've been thinking by logic, why it wouldn't work if it supports even up to 2800 Mhz...
I couldn't find answer on this question.

Please could someone who knows how this will work could answer?

Thank you in advance!

My specs:

CPU: i5 2500k clocked to 4.0 Ghz
MB: Z77 ASrock Extreme 6
GPU: AMD HD7870 2GB
SSD: OCZ Agility 3
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM
PSU: Corsair GS700 700W
RAM: A-Data 1600 Mhz 8GB <<----- The one I currently have
RAM that I'm planning to buy ---> Kingston 16GB DDR3 PC19200 CL11 HyperX Beast KIT OF 2 HX324C11T3K2/16

I checked some benchmarks and yes. There's really super incredebly small difference between 2400 and 1600.
And at gaming I would say there's no difference at all.

SOO thank you! :)
