[SOLVED] Z77 Extreme 4 - can it run windows 10?

I’m an old fart that has an older motherboard in my PC on Windows 7 Pro. I’m scared to death that my Samsung SSD is going to die soon (backup hdd died a few weeks ago, and existing SSD was installed into 2014, and getting memory alerts). I’ve built all my PC’s (8) since the 80’s, but have dementia now and am struggling to work on my PC. Can someone know if Window 10 home will work in my ASRock Z77 Extreme4 (box sticker is Z77 Extreme4/A/ASR)? It may have been built in 2012 (as a “tom’s hardware 2012 APPROVED ”sticker on it), but not sure. Have sent email to ASRock, which they acknowledged, but no reply for a couple weeks.
I would really like to stay with Window7 because I know it (well maybe I should say some now), but if the current ssd dies, I’m afraid I would not be able to get the fixes (I have the original CD). I have another new Samsung SSD that is not installed yet. I think that the newer Samsung Magician software (or a separate item?) can clone my old SSD to a new SSD, but worry that the clone may fail and then my existing Win 7 fixes will be lost (no way to get Win 7 fixes?). Ideally, I would like to have both Win 7 and Win 10 if it works on my Z77, giving me a chance to learn Win 10 if I can. Anyway, any help would. Thanks.

there are windows 10 drivers available for that motherboard on the ASRock website. that in and of itself means it will run Windows 10.
My last system, a whole 6 months ago, was a 955 AMD black from 2009 ran windows 10 great.
the hardest issue is getting drivers and as they are available I would say your good to go. I cannot say how well windows 10 will run on it though.

Can Win 10 run on that? Sure can.
My HTPC is a Z77 board, running Win 10 with zero issues.

As far as your current drive, cloning, failing, whatever...this is what backups and Images are for.
You need to be doing that whatever OS, and whatever you may or may not be changing to.
We can go down that path if you wish.

Win 10 is not that much different than 7. Some of the underlying settings are in a different place, but they are still there.
It like worrying about a new car because the cup holders are in a different place.

I'm sure you're aware, but Win 7 is no longer getting ANY security updates. And the free Upgrade to Win 10 still works.
