I recently built a new system with the following:

Gigabyte Z790 Auros Elite AX DDR4
I7-12700K
2x16GB Trident RGB DDR4-4000
1000w Asus Rog Strix PS
Zotac RTZ3080 Trinity OC with 12GB

I put the RAM into the A2 and B2 slots like the board says but then it doesnt boot up. It just gives continuous long beeps. I can run 1 stick in the A2 and it boots fine. I can use A1 and A2 and it will boot up fine as well but then the BIOS will give me a warning about the memory modules not being optimized and to put them in A2 and B2. I do not have XMP turned on in BIOS. Would this be a memory problem or a MB problem?

Slots a1+a2 work but b1+b2 do not work......correct?

Loosen the clamping pressure of the cpu heatsink just a little....test.

If no help remove the cpu and look for damaged pins or sockets.

Thanks. You were right. I removed the CPU and sure enough there are a couple of bent pins on the socket. Kind of weird that it runs fine except for the RAM issue.
