Got a 13900k and a Z790 xtreme. Running 2 sticks of 32gb corsair dominator ddr5.

With both sticks in slots A2 and B2, get motherboard code 12. Won't post.

With a single stick in B2, it posts. Both sticks work by themselves in B2 slot. Neither stick works alone in A2.

Assuming this has to be a motherboard issue right?

Edit: Have tried all three versions of bios available. Same results each time.

Are the two sticks part of a 2 x 32gb 64gb kit?
If not, that is likely your problem.
Ram must be matched for proper operation.

Otherwise,
I might suspect that you have a bent pin in the cpu socket.
That is a common symptom.
If you did not drop the chip in cleanly, that is all too easy to do.
Look carefully for a bent pin. You may be able to straighten it out using a needle.
A bent pin is not a valid reason for a RMA; it is assumed to be user error.

Thanks, yes, they are part of a 2x32 set.

I didn't think there were any bent pins and was careful to drop it in but I can check

Hoping for an easy fix.

Edit: just checked. No pins look bent. So either CPU or motherboard. Sigh.
