Z87 Motherboard Devils Canyon ( 4790K) support question?

just wondering, is it possible to add the 4790K CPU, install windows and then update bios to latest firmware on z87 boards? or will computer not work at all without prior bios update

Currently, ASUS is the only Motherboard Manufacturer doing that. You can't do it on the others! :p
I am telling this as I have an ASUS Z87-Pro and I got the latest BIOS (NOT the beta one) which added support for Devil's Canyon as well. And you must install the update prior to the installation of CPU. Tell me your Mobo manufacturer so that I can help you!

i have the Asus ROG Impact, can i install the 4790K and install windows without the bios update? if i can't, how do you do it when you have a brand new system with only the devils canyon CPU
