Z87 MPOWER SP Error 55 (Missing Memory) Dimms Not Working

Today I put together my computer. It is not booting. I got error 55 on my MSI Z87 MPOWER SP motherboard. That means there is a memory issue. I found out through trials that whenever there is memory in DIMM 1 or DIMM 2, the system will not boot.

I took the CPU off and looked for bent pins, there were none.

I updated the bios and cleared the CMOS.

I have tried all ram modules, they work correctly. I am using 4x4GB of HyperX Fury. It reads as it should under bios. 1866MHz.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No I am using the same ram to boot. I have 4x4gb and the motherboard only boots to bios when they are in DIMM 3 or DIMM 4 (B1/B2) in which case I am only using 1 or 2 sticks of memory. If I ever put memory in DIMM 1 or DIMM 2 (A1/A2) the system will not boot and give diagnostic code 55.

My bios is updated to 1.A (1.10) which is the latest for the board.

Just put only one stick on DIMM1 then it can't boot?

Hey, thanks for the link. I looked at that earlier but I saw something the second time that seems like it could fix it. It may be my CPU cooler mounting somehow shorting a memory trace on the motherboard. I hate that because it is a pain in the ass to continually re seat a CPU cooler. Ill try it when I get home from work. Wish me luck!
