z87 uEFI bios lag?

my first ever gaming build so bare with me...

specs:
CPU: core i5 4670k @ 3.4 ghz (stock)
gpu: GTX 760 4GB
mobo: Gigabyte z87x ud4h (dual bios)
psu: antec hcg 750w
hdd: seagate berracuda 1tb

first off, i have no Operating system installed so all i can do is boot to the bios... i have a dvi-d from the 760 to my monitor (regular old 60hz hd monitor) and the bios is really twitchy/ laggy and it is running in what looks like a low resolution (supposed to be 1080p) could the lag and the low resolution be due to the graphics card having no drivers?? or did i maybe assemble something wrong???

The BIOS won't run at 1080p and it will take a second for you to get into it after pressing the appropriate key. That's perfectly normal.

the new motherboard i have is supposed to run at 1080p but im not worries about that since there isnt any drivers for my video card.... im worries about the actual lag. when i move around the mouse it is very twitchy/laggy and everything is slower than normal. could that be due to no drivers or could i have setup something wrong?

im not running any os at the moment i have windows 8 64bit oem on the way... but im just making sure none of the lag/twitch will carry over to the actual operating system. i hope its a driver issue

The BIOS is a tiny little computer, that in no way mirrors your overall build. If the UEFI bios is laggy it's perfectly fine. You should't see anything too fancy until you boot into an OS and install drivers. The UEFI BIOS is less than 128 MB in size, not a lot of room for fancy graphics.

My advice to you is to continue your installation, get everything installed and updated, and then see if you still need to worry about the BIOS speed. It really shouldn't matter. Less than 2 years ago we were still using the old BIOS without a complex GUI. UEFI is very very new.

As soon as you install win-8 you will see 1080 cause generic drivers come with it. Still need NVidia after you finish. As long as you can see anything at all is usually the biggest hurdle and you passed. Your good.
