I really really need help badly. First time builder and everything wen't so fine. I was just checking out system details and saw I had 8GB. I was suppose to have 16GB so I thought one of the RAMS were in wrong slot. I moved it over and turned on PC. Only to find that it wont start. It turns on and off then on again but stays on till I choose to turn it off. Nothing pops up on the TV. I've checked the manual about the DIMM errors. It also shows what RAM is compatible with the motherboard. I'm surprised to find out that HyperX isn't listed there even thought it worked fine with just 8GB.

Intel i5 4690k
MSI AMD R9 380
Corsair 430W (I've already been told that this PSU is not enought. I truly thought it would do the job. I've already got it on return. Once sent, I'll get 600W Corsair PSU)
CPU fan Cool master master hyper 212 evo
2 case fans.

What's the model number(s) of the DRAM, do you have the latest BIOS? While you get that to us, what slots were they in when they didn't work at all (From CPU was it 1-2 or 3-4 maybe, and guessing you had them in 1-3 or 2-4 when only half showed up? Again guessing you have a 3rd party CPU cooler like an EVO or H7 or the like, if so, try loosening the Cooler then snug it down screw tight, many overtighten in a corner or side and throw off the MC (memory controller. Can go further with the info asked for 😉

This is just a guess as I'm unable to reach pc but I'm pretty sure the ram was placed in as 1-3 which are black and 2-4 are grey. I'll answer more of your question if i can later on. But please tell me if the motherboard could be faulty?? A friend says it is even though its new and i haven't put any drivers on. Also if the motherboard was faulty without knowing is it safe to put in new set lf ram or will the motherboard damage the ram?

Well I've decided to send back Motherbaord and RAM. I've tried everything to get the PC to work but nothing. I tried to loosen the CPU but that did nothing.

Hi Tradesman1,

Sorry for long wait. I've gotten everything sorted and apparently it was the RAM that was the issue. I do get a red post error when booting up and seeing Asus screen but after that it disappears. I'm unsure if it's a issue but so far the PC been running fine. Few crashes with games that tend to happen rarely which isn't much of a problem as I think it's driver issue. I did have a unexpected crash while playing a game today. Maybe you could help me in that? Thanks.

If your question refers to the red post error then I'll pass as I see no need to fix because it doesn't cause much alarm, but if I'm mistaken then please do correct me. I tend to stay away from BIOS unless it's last resort. The motherboard did come with Asus disc that contain drivers but nothing on BIOS. I guess I would need to check Asus website for that. If updating the BIOS to latest is recommended for new build then i'll think about it, but for my problem as for right now, I think it's more of the drivers for GPU.

I'm using MSI R9 380 as you know and lately I've been messing around with the drivers. I've gotten occasional or rare crashes (idk which) with GTA V and Just cause 3. Instead of using MSI drivers I thought I'll try AMD to see it would fix my problem. I updated to latest update of AMD which is Crimson Edition 16.1 Hotfix. I did't get same error I would get normally but after few hours of playing my display went blank and said no signal. Had to restart PC to get back on. My monitor is connected to GPU using HMDI cable. I google around, and what a surprise! I see that I wasn't only one with the issue. It was quite the coincidence as I think you've come a across a thread who had similar issue so maybe you got any ideas? I might be wrong I can't remember.
