Z97 drives take 20GB of hard drive

I have been trying to find out why the Asus Z97 Deluxe MOBO drivers take 20GB of hard drive space. I checked the restore points and it looks like just the required drivers and programs were installed. The downloaded files are only 1.8GB. So why does the installation take 20GB? Intel and Asus haven't a clue.

Could be a corrupted or fragmented file, or it was simply copied too many times in error. If both Intel and Asus conform the file should not be that large, a OS reinstall would be your best bet.

I noticed that the Asus Z87 system I built in Dec. and did a clean load did the same thing. It took 20GB for the drivers also. So I am not sure reloading the system is going to fix the problem. The main reason for changing the MOBO processor and memory rather than building a new system was to avoid reloading the hard drive.
