Z97 extreme6/ac driver installs are unresponsive/locking up pc

All hardware worked fine on my z87-a but I had bent pins which were causing some problems with my i7 and POST's after reboots so I upgraded to a z97 extreme6/ac. I connected everything and it post'ed/restarted fine. Within the os the system ran fine but when I attempted to install any drivers directly from the asrock website I would get stalls/lockups. I installed the lan drivers and updated the uefi via the uefi. After that I was able to install a few drivers before one finally causing a crash. I ran ccleaner to see if it would help with any reg errors and still had a had lockups/stalls when exe was running. I am currently typing from the second board and still have the same problems. I have not checked the uefi version yet but I will update in a second after I check on that.

Has anyone else had problems like this with this and or any other asrock z97 board?

I found 3 other people that have had the same problems. A possible workaround may have been found but I should be able to install drivers without any issues regardless.

Mobo: z97 extreme6/ac
CPU: 4790k stock
RAM: GSkill Ripjaws 1333 cas 7 (F3-10666CL7D-8GBRH) stock
PSU: Seasonic M12II
GPU: Powercolor PCS+ 7950 stock
OS: 8.1 64bit

Have you tried installing the drivers from the board's DVD?

Yes I had done that. Even after getting them installed I tried to uninstall something on a fresh boot and the exe stopped responding.

Did you reinstall Windows after swapping the boards?

Yes. The first image on the first board was off the z87-a. Reimaged 2 times on the first extreme6 then on the second image waited for this board. Attempted to uninstall drivers and reinstall them but stalled/crashed on that image. Reimaged once earlier and attempted to install drivers using the live update running off a flash drive pulled from within the uefi. Reimaged for some reasons and I am about to attempt the same thing again and only restart the pc when a driver suggests and or required a restart. If it works I will come back and update the thread for future reference since I am not the only one with this problem.

What do you mean by reimage?

The image for the OS. I think I worked it out using ASRock update. Instead downloading the drivers from the website I downloaded them using the updater I downloaded via the UEFI onto a flash drive. Hopefully I don't get the stalls with other programs being installed later and or when uninstalling something.
