Hi i have z97-k and i7 4790k psu: high quality fsp hydro g 750w, and 16 gigbs of hyperx memory on xmp1 1866t i was running my system stable on 1.26/4.5ghz for more than a week, ran games, stability tests( prime95,rog realbench,intel stress test) all seemed fine. and few days ago it started crashing my whole pc, weirdly the first crash was on idle. i tried increasing voltage to 1.28 and then to auto( mb defaults it to 44x and 1.3) and it still crashed. i doubt its temp related, prime 95 maxes at 85C, intel stress test around 78-80, gaming(100%cpu usage too) around 69-70C, my idle is 40C
i ran memory diagnostic, no errors returned about memory, tried without xmp, still crashed.
description of crash:
pc powers down, restarts, but power buttons dont work. basically have to pull the plug, then reset CMOS, to get into bios again.
today morning i updated bios( old version was 2305,) to newest version(from asus site) with EZ flash utility, update proceeded and running now a prime95 for 15min.. meanwhile:
any ideas, suggestions what can be going on?
