If I will be getting an i5 4690k, which sub 100$ motherboard would you suggest? SLI/CrossfireX is a nice plus. Thanx xD

By purchasing the 4690K you are getting an unlocked cpu. This means it is overclockable.

You don't want to pair that kind of processor really, with a cheap motherboard (not that there is such a think as a sub 100$ z97 board in a serious format) as you will likely not have the overclocking support needed. Check out a few boards in the $150-$200 bucks region if your mind is set on the "K" variant.

Should you not want to overclock anyway, don't pick that processor. Save money and go for a locked version for less $.

Any cons with the gigabyte ga z97x sli?

Not per se.

There is a little less RAM compatibility with higher frequencies. There is a little less connectivity (ports, SATA etc). There is the brand, of which I am not a fan of and it is not the most reliable one (doesn't mean you will have problems, everything should go fine)

I have a feeling you would not notice the difference between it and the others.

Thank you. If I will not be overclocking, and decided to go with a xeon 1231v3, what motherboard would you suggest?
If I DO want to overclock, I can change my config from gtx 970 to r9 280x and go for a better mobo and then upgrade later. What should I do?

I would strongly discourage going for a Xeon processor. They aren't what you are after.

Go for simple, widely reviewed, designed for purpose parts. You have the righ processor selected already and now you have suggestions from the number one source/legend on this forum for your motherboard.

Time to stop playing and take home the prize buddy ;-)

Thanks a lot. You people are reeely kind to take the time for a starter.
