ZALMAN 9500 not helping high Intel mobo temps. Help.

OK, recently I opened up my PC because I wasn't happy with the temps. it's around 50C, but with my Zalman I expected it to be lower.

When I touched the part of my motherboard closest to the rear, I nearly burned my finger. It was extremely hot. My zalman wasn't hot to the touch at all though.

Anyone with an Intel board like mine have this issue? My CPU seems cool I guess, but the area around it is scorching. I'm only OCd 4%.

50C under load for an intel at 3ghz isnt horrible.... do you have AS5 of MX-1 applied correctly??

Is the HSF seated flush on the processor???

yes. would i have to smooth out (i forget the technical term for this application) the heat sink? I read about some people doing it on this model.

again, the heatsink itself is barely warm, but the mobo feels hot.
I checked the AS5 after I first applied it, and then removed it and applied it again after i had these problems. Maybe the weight of the fan is too much for my motherboard? The screws are all in tight though.

high temps for mobo components is completely normal, try to increase case airflow

You should have atleast 2 120MM case fans... try adding a third if you can.
