can anyone please tell me if a Zalman fatality will fit on this asrock board?
need to do a cheap upgrade for a relative & need to know before ordering
T.I.A.

the product support page was updated in 2005 & my brother in law wants red led, you cant get 9500/9700 in red led

The fatality is very large and fits less MBs overall than the 9500 series. It depends on how much room you have around the cpu socket. The fatality heatsink fan sits low and is wide and large. It does not fit a lot of MBs. In addition, the fan blows straight down on the MB instead of expelling air out the back of the case like the 9500s do. I use mine on an old MSI NF4 Platinum board. It's amazing the thing even fits on there. Cools my FX55 though.

have a look what d'you reckon?

Actually, after taking a closer look at your board and realizing that northbridge heatsink sits higher than it looks, you could run into a problem with that heatsink. It may sit too close to the socket to allow the fan to clear and seat on the cpu. Not sure really.

For example, on my board I cannot remove the RAM in the number one socket. The fan sits right on top of the RAM. I can not use my Corsiar XMX Pro RAM, the Heatspreaders are set to high. I have to use 'regular' size RAM DIMMS with the Fatality HSF. You won't have that problem, your RAM sockets are far away. Also, the capacitors on your board are not located all around the socket like a lot of boards. That Fatalty can't clear the capacitors on a lot of boards.
