how much of this stuff should be used becuase im unsure as it has a brush for application it is kinda confusing

Just brush a block in the middle of the cpu, a bit away from the edges and you'll be fine. Thats what i did

but would have fort they woouldve been clear with instructions with the new stuff, but as per usual nothing

Consider the fact that as you press the HS to the IHS there is very little clearance. Apply the paste accordingly.
