zangband 2.7.4c question

Hello all,

Just a quick question about zangband 2.7.4c. I'm looking on the world
map and seeing several different dungeons, each with a different number
corresponding to the entrance. Right now I am exploring a level "1"
dungeon (assuming this is the easiest, since I walked near a level 4
and nearly got wiped out) and what I am wondering is, will this level 1
dungeon go all the way to the bottom (to the serpent of chaos), or will
it bottom out before 5000', forcing me to try another dungeon? Right
now I am somewhere between 1500-2000 feet.

The number indicates the level of the dungeon. Just multiply the
number by 10 and the start level of dungeon is less than than that
number, so the "1" dungeon should somewhere between level 1-9, the "4"
dungeon you should enter the dungeon on a level in the thirties. The
dungeons go down a number of levels (its different for each dungeon) it
could just be a few or it could be 30, but the level number will change
to "Bottom" when you reach the lowest level in the dungeon.

No.

Yes. Still, if you like the dungeon (the monsters aren't irritating, you
get useful drops), keep on going down; you can switch to a deeper dungeon
once you get to the bottom.
Dungeons with 7 or more should lead down to 5000'.
