zed87 deluxe quad, unknown device AMDA00 will not install

What is causing this device to not install.?
I updated the Bios recently to the 2004 revision.
I downloaded all the latest drivers.
I had to reinstall win 764 bit due to corruption before doing so...as I cloned the M500 ssd on a different system sabertooth x79, and ported that to as the boot drive of this new Zed87 deluxe quad board, with all music software and plugins intact..

The dirve worked as a clone for a while with out issues, windows found all the drivers including the unknown one...But the machine ID did not match the system, which cause software and plug ins to crash the software in use, and using them..with crashes..caused corruption of the OS with dumps, and then a bad boot sector was the end of that.

So I tried a Arconis Premium bare metal backup and reinstall...which did help solve the Machine ID issue, but the OS was too corrupted to continue to continue to use, I did try as a last resort a app fix reg program which only made things worse, and the tech from that company installed the authorization and implemented the scan and so called fix...and he saw it did not work...So I got a refund..

After installing the latest bios 2004 for newer cpu types, with the informed t use updater .
I then installed win 7 64 bit Pro retail...seemed to go well , without internet device installed, no connection is made to Auto update win 7.

I decided to let MS do most of the installing.
Seems it did not find the AMDA00 device driver or cannot install it, Nor can I.

Lots of errors in the event viewer.,
sevral reinstalls...same problem...now using MS techs and they are not helping solve this installation issue...or one got it installed, but win 7 became very buggy and crashes or throws up error messages on boot up, not finding drivers...etc.
Another Tech after a fresh install, ran a script of some kind, removing all the Win updates, and reinstalling them without failure....
One critical crash so far.
As all the updates are installed correctly this time...I feel this is where I should leave the issue until I get the right solution...Techs will be back remote viewing on Tues or Wednesday.

I have a MS tech support team , for the last three days remote viewing.
the first tech did get the device to load the driver...He did a install of ATI 5770 cat suite.exe "under run as admin"...But did not remove the old driver first...caused issues?

Then he did something I did not see...And the drivers were installed.
But the system was more buggy, and crashed too much when booting.

So I had to scrap that install and start over...Two other MS tech have attempted to solve this, one using almost the same method as the first...But it does not install that driver anymore....I can get the exclamation mark to disappear using one version of the AMDA00 Driver I got from another site forum, tech saying this driver would solve someone's issue, who was having the same issue as I was.

We tried removing the device, windows just puts it back with exclamation mark.

So is this a setup Bios issue?.

Also on default Irst and , IRSS are turned off in bios 2004 I believe, and IRCT...these drivers from ASUS...sometimes do not install..."system is not supporting this device" is the error when trying..

So trying to run the ASUS drivers do not work until that bios is enabled properly one would think...But enabling and trying to install these new drivers on this board, just goes no where.
"System does not support this " and ends the installer...or the AMDA00 installer opens a Dos window and writes some meta data hand hangs...with the ok at the end of one string of command line run.

AI Suite II and III do not install...perhaps because the AMDA00 is not installing.?...Installer Just runs and disappears...It shows up as running under endtask...but does nothing kind of hangs...

As it does not install but hangs in the Apps running state...it has to be ended...and any info removed from USER\data files..which it does create..

So what should I do ..roll back to bios 1802, ?.

Or is there a setting in Bios where this onboard device may reside, but is turned off?...Or some settings in Bios that needs to be either disabled or enabled to make this board load/install (step by step process) the MB drivers properly?

Because even the MS techs are stumped...Oh no help from ASUS PHONE TECHS, THEY NOW WANT MONEY TO INSTALL THEIR Support DRIVERS?...

P.S.
So any help would be fantastic...I have read and tried some of the Tom's suggestions for this issue...But they do not solve my issue at the moment.

The AMDA00 Interface driver is used for certain aspects of AI Suite. If you won't be using AI Suite, you don't need to install it.

Also have you tried installing the driver from your motherboard DVD? It's located in the Bin folder.

The Driver on the DVD/cd that came with this board, Auto run does not install anything...kind of weird...The app runs, when one clicks on the install button, Nothing happens..The MS tech tried countless times to access the DVD for different Drivers, But windows put in its own with its updates, for some things...Basics..and then throws up....Windows has installed the best Drivers for this device message.
No AMDA00 Driver is in the Driver folder, and the Tech looked into the bin, and other places for this, but could not find it AMDA00 Driver.....and the AI suites will not install ....of course this unknown Device has to be installed first...Right?.

As this Unknown device is not installed...Some things seem to be asking for it's use...Perhaps why I am getting all these Errors, and logs constantly...Which interrupts with CPU, scheduling time and resources, running these services, and thus causes glitches in Audio device, RECORD AND PLAY BACK, and software...Detecting CPU SPIKING>CPU MONITOR IN SOFTWARE DETECTS....I believe.

Crashes may be happening because something has not installed properly (irst irsc?)

Other problems may be with Bios setup...As Bios default setting, turns off some features (irst irsc or irss) and others like XMP...and turns on INTEL SPEED STEP...This causes boot issues with memory....and windows does not boot because of overclocking messages being posted to return to the bios to make changes.

So I have my hands full ...just getting the Bios right to boot into windows...and it is a guessing Game with this board , as it is new for me...I just cannot rap my head around this new bios....or the new devices and what they do, or do not do...at this point....

So a Step By Step might be necessary for me, and the Tech heads at MS....So I can resolve all the errors and conflicts showing up in Event Viewer...Get this driver installed and turned off...or disabled.

Still only one critical crash so far....but the system is acting oddly.

Today, Just before booting up for another day of guessing...I went into the bios and turned off EPR, some handshaking settings,..., all the devices redundant (blue tooth, wi fi,)...and for some reason the system would not boot...saying something was wrong with the boot drives Boot info.

So I went back into the Bios and reset EPR to enable, and turned back on the handshaking...And windows booted...then a window opens when booted: C:\USER NAME\AppData|Local\Temp\200246Log.iniis Lost Message appears.


Then this happened....""Driver software installation"" window opened: Stating the installation process of some of the drivers for the ZED 87 DQ board...ALL of them have a check mark...Which means Ready to use....Thank God for that...wink wink.

The unknown device still will not install....but now all the other stuff is saying it is working ok..or ready to use.

So...I guess this issue has something to do with the Bios not being setup right...and something in there that is either on or off is preventing the unknown device (sensor?) from being installed correctly.

As fiddling around in Bios today caused all the drivers that have been installed to install correctly and give us the above messages out of: "Driver software installation" "READY TO USE ALL...Perhaps?

Yah I was told I could just disable the unknown device..and it is for AI suite....But seems something is dinging it constantly...or looking for it...and it is causing unnecessary logging.

Perhaps the boot up Drivers will now boot or be found on time, due to this latest development.?

Thanks for your response..The Builder...I believe you are right about it being for the AI suite, but it should be installing that driver correctly...and it is not.
That is a bug, or something is causing it not to install!...not addressing it , to my mind correctly is sloppy building...if it is causing issues.

Again we need the Bios setup for 2004 version...step by step....Or... the 1802 Version of the Bios??..for standard thunderbolt 2, SSD , SATA 3, SATA 2, , and CPU, Memory XMP, win 7 64bit install and setup of mb drivers properly!...nothing omitted in that process will be left undone....I want sound, stability!...no overclocking, or speed step , or VT Tech.!!

Ok..another tech remote viewing with a MS level 3T...
This is what he said.

The unknown device...is installed as a unknown device in other..is now under system devices now.



The driver we looked for again on the DVD does not exist..in the format we downloaded from the Asus site, nor could we find anything like it in the bin, driver , or on the cd or dvd that came with the board....I am assuming this driver is installed when AI is installed...we went into that as well...and found no driver in the driver window to select it...So I do not know where it may be, or what it is called...if it is there...we also tried to search for what might be common file structures of known file types in the new Update AMDA00 Driver...and looked into that DVD...no luck.

He did a very nice thing ...he showed the devices in device manager...did something to the setting of that viewer, and it showed ghost installs of many devices, which could of been causing issues with other things not installing right.
he removed all the ghost devices, then he removed all the other devices...and we restarted the process of installing Drivers.

As we installed the Drivers """ Software installation window""" was opened...and as things were installed...the green check mark appeared...ready to use.
Once all the Drivers that would install were put in....The unknown device was tackled last.

And it moved to the system device folder, as a unknown device, when we ran the updated driver from ASUS .

He then check the error events, and other things still causing issues, with drivers not found, that threw up a error on boot ups....And removed the chipset driver which was not correct for this board.
and removed any sub folders and dived into the registry, and other places to root out those errors.

Then we installed the correct chipset driver....All is now, as he put it..."working correctly"...we booted up a few times to see...no more error messages pop up, and what is showing up now in event viewer...Is said to be normal...and all the things in device manager are, as he put it. " installed correctly"....

So that is a relief...I could now move on to phase 2......Thanks for the input: The Builder....I can now turn the unknown device to disable?...Just asking...

Nah...something ain't right even with the unknown device disabled...DCP latency checker throws up page faults tied to ACPI...and that unknown device...

So I bought win 8.1...all devices install ok in win 8.1 pro.

I am attemting to slipstream win 7 sp1 iso with Asus drivers...But no luck still getting the AMDA00 Driver to install correctly in that attempt, or some of the other divers from ASUS...So I have to give up on win7 and move to win 8.1...it is the only way...it seems, as MS are not going to bother with this...and Asus seem ignorant to the issues...And if you call the ASUS tech support they want money to install drivers....So if you pay MS to tech remote for one year, and they cannot solve the issue on their own OS...How the hell is paying for ASUS with this bugginess driver, that does nothing to solve, going to be solved by them?....What we the consumers are suppose to find the bugs, pay to report em, and try to install...(and it won't)...and also for their RND there after now?...well that is so far as of this posting...so heads up people..

Hi Leslie,

I've had a similar problem on my Z97 Deluxe. An Unknown Device with hardware ID = ACPI/PNP0A0A.

Looking further into it I found that the driver installed correctly however an associated windows service for the device failed to start.

I looked into the driver .inf files and it references the Windows User Mode Driver Framework.

Therefore I installed the latest update using Windows Update, User-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11.

This is not an automatically installed update. It is a reccomended update only, that you must manually select, and it seems therefore that it is not included on the Win7-64 SP1 CD, so a system reinstall won't fix this.

after installing this, I re-installed the ASUS AMDA00 driver by running InsAMDA.exe and the unknown device disappeared, and an AMDA00 Interface appeared user system devices.

That driver is "ASUS Probe 2 Sense Driver".

I'm a little late here. But, if you haven't solved yet, try unpacking the AMDA00_Win7-8-8-1_V1010.zip from the Asus website, under utilities and installing it. If that doesn't work (or, you've already done that) then run AMDA00_Win7-8-8-1_V1010/x64/Setup.exe. You'll see the Command box flash briefly. Recheck your Device Manager.

I had the issue with my Z97 Sabertooth.
