ZM700-GT Power supply.

Hey, I was looking for a reliable 650W Power supply, and was going to go for the Corsair TX 650. This however is ~£80 (And I actually saw some less-than-satisfied reviews, despite Corsair's reputation.)

As such, I have stumbled upon the Zalman ZM700-GT*(Corrected this) 700W, as I am buying my case from them, the Z11 plus, I believe they are fairly reputable as that case is meant to be top-notch.

ANYHOW. I can get this 700W supply for £65, but I wanted to see if anyone knows whether this PSU can support Nvidia SLU, how reliable Zalman are as a company for PSUs, or it specifically. Finally, any other 650W+ PSUs Around that price range you can accept are welcome.

Hi,

Corsair TX650 is better supply than 700GT. It has more stable outputs, dedicated voltage regulation, it can deliver more in overload and it has 5 years warranty.
Hardware secrets tested Corsair series and both CX and TX can deliver at least 100W over rated wattage without any problem (no noise, or temp jumps). That should give you a hint how endurable are they in these situations and how efficient will they work under normal load.

As far as bad reviews... have not found them to be honest. Found couple blogs, and badcaps forum where they trashed CX series. Every serious review out there will recomend these supplies, esspecially TX series.

Now... that Zalman has 4 different 12V rails with 18Amps each. This should be enough to run SLI with two 680's for example. But all that written power can't be used, this PSU can't deliver more than 660W on it's 12V rails.
TX delivers everything that is written on it.

If you really wan't to be sure to run SLI or Crossfire with some major GPU's.. then go for TX750.
If you don't wan't to go for SLI then Zalman will be ok, but my recomendation still stands with tx650. You wan't some insurance if your PSU dies in 3 and half years.

Thanks, though I'm not able to go higher than the Corsair - As a final question, do you reckon it can run SLI with two GTX 670s? (Also, just to check - One 670 should be enough to run most games on the high/highest settings, yes? As I plan to double up in ~two years, when the 670 becomes outdated. It would be nice knowing I don't have to buy another PSU or CPU (I've been told my I5 3470 3.2 Ghz should do the SLI fine, maybe with SLIGHT and CAREFUL overclocking to be sure of not getting any bottleneck problems. I also have a friend who works in ICT who can help me with the overclocking, as I'm not all that well clued up.)

Yeah, it will run them without any problems.

But consider to sell your 670 after two years, add money you wanted to spend and go for something great in future. For same price you'll get better stuff and have only one PSU "killer". Maybe you'll be able to get even Titan for reasonable price in two years.
