Zone Login, throwing up my hands

Here's the basics:
I installed Windows XP with Service Pack2
I was able to play for awhile on the Zone then my computer would not allow
ActiveX to install.
I got that to work and now Essentail Game Files won't install..ever.
I, in frustration, clicked to always allow Install from MSN, so now I don't
get the Install/ Don't Install option. (I would like to change that back.)
I have tried many suggestions including:
Internet Properties, View Objects, reapiring HeartBeat Class, then I tried
to remove it. This is a temporary removal of Heartbeat, as it's there when I
return.
I then removed ZoneAxMgr Class and Zone Intro. Which I haven't been able
to return because I can't access the Zone download page now.
I have tried to go into DOS and remove heartbeat, with no luck.
I have opened my firewall ports, although I can't figure out how to do
2300-2400, single numbers are easy.
I have turned off my Firewall. Turned my Security to Low, Reloaded Java and
my computer will still not load Essential MSN Game Files. I want to play
AOC, but I cannot even play card games. Please help.

I'm having the same problem. I have tried to uninstall and redownload the
Zone files with no luck. When I try to download the files, nothing happens.
I have an icon on the bottom of the browser that indicates there was an
error on the page. When I click on teh icon, it says "library not
registered".

If it mentions which .dll isn't registered, you can register the file
with this command line:

regsvr32 zonecli.dll

That's a sample filename and not necessarily the one you need to
register. Click Start, Run, and type in the command, with the file that
isn't registered.

If the user isn't an administrator (on an XP or W2k machine), that might
explain why it wasn't registered properly. Sometimes there will be an
error message, "Could not write to the registry.".

The command line will need to include the path to the file, so start the
line like this, and add the filename:

regsvr32 C:\Program Files\MSN Gaming Zone\

regsvr32 C:\Program Files\MSN Gaming Zone\zfriends.dll

Not all .dll files need to be registered.

Elmo, although you did a fine job of answering the other question, I am
still in the dark. Can you please help me with the original post?

The only new ActiveX component of the three is ZoneIntro Class. You
might right-click it, click Update. If that doesn't work, click
Remove. Then reenter the Zone for a fresh install.

Here's help with downloads and installs:

XP considers those to be system files. If you want to remove the Zone,
or at least most of it, open Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, click
Windows Components in the left column, locate the games, deselect the
Zone.

I doubt XP will let you. Were there any Conflict folders in the folder
C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files ?

What firewall? The new XP firewall added by SP2 lets you to allow
ActiveX, and maybe the individual Zone files access. I don't have XP
and don't remember exactly.

Maybe the security settings in the browser are preventing the install.
