ZoneFriend-disconnecting

After 50 sec my ZoneFriends 'disconnects'.
Have now set it to 'Automatically Reconnect to the Zone after a
disconnection' which is does, but you can see it disconnecting/reconnecting
every 50 secs.
Is there a permanent fix?

That's exactly the problem I'm having. Elmo made some general suggestions in
my earlier post, but nothing was really relevant. I'd sure appreciate a
fix....

I am having the same problem: ZoneFriends will load but then disconnect and
I have no idea as to how to make it reconnect again. Help!!

There is a posting below entitled, "Problems Connecting to Zone Friends" on
February 10 by Enterprise. Follow the instructions listed there and I think
you will have a "fix." I did!

I hadn't noticed that it doing that, but it's apparently the Zfriends
server, or the software resetting the connection. Since I have no
firewall, or router, I'm sure it's at the Zone end, and most likely
intended.

The problem is, it only shows Friends who log on while it's connected, and
then only until it disconnects. Once it disconnects and reconnects, no
Friend shows as logged on. This can't be intentional...

Hmm.. When mine reconnects, the friends list updates.

It seems to be a Zone server problem as a lot experience this trouble.

This is what seems to work as a temporary solution:

Log in with your net pass to the point where the activex loads up your Zone
Friends, but don't enter any game lobby. This will keep Zone Friends alive
and you then go to the options/preferences menu of Zone Friends and tick
"Automatically Reconnect to the Zone after a disconbnection"

Now join a Zone game lobby and your Zone friends will die on entry. Close
down Zone friends, but stay in the game lobby you entered.

Close your browser and log in with your net pass again, to the point where
the activex loads up your Zone Friends again. Zone friends will now keep
alive and you are in the game lobby you wish to play in.

It's sort of workaround and your Zone Friends will keep on reconnecting app.
every 40 secs. Must be a server issue which must be fixed by the MSN game
Zone. Could also be related to the latest winXP update (KB887742) as the
error seems to have started around that time.
