[SOLVED] Zotac 2080 amp extreme Core inaccurate Mhz Boost Reading

Ok i know i maybe freaking for the wrong reason here
but my card is supposed to read 1860 Mhz Boost instead it reads 1875 Mhz with 0% overclocking
tried many utilities including zotac firestorm, msi afterburner & Gpu-Z and all the same readingis my card faulty or did i just got lucky ?

That's normal. Your card is not faulty. The core clock will boost depending on the GPU load. It's called GPU Boost by NVIDIA. Nothing to worry about.

yeah i totally get you, but isn't the gpu boost "mhz" already determined for each card model by the manufacturer?
i mean mine is set to 1515 mhz BASE & 1860 BOOST, that's what had me worried with the 1875 reading, am i getting it right??

Yes the MHz value is determined by the manufacturer, but despite this, the card can boost slightly higher as well, IMO.

It's sort of GPU self overclocking. The Card boosts to way beyond advertised clock due to available margins. It's normal. Think of GPU Boost like Intel's turbo boost. It kicks in automatically when needed as long the card is not on power or thermal limit. But unlike Intel's turbo boost, it can't be disabled. The "boost" relates to GPUBoost 4/3.0 which will essentially overclock a card beyond the base/max, assuming various criteria are met (thermal, voltage etc).

Most of the time, cards will boost beyond the stated boost clock, but it is dependent on thermals and other factors. What you're seeing is not abnormal, and is relatively common, IMO

I'm glad GPU boost still works on RTX and turing cardscards. I didn't know this. I'm going to check my GPU's core clock speed.
