How’s it going? I currently run a 1070ti, Ryzen 1800x and a 1440 monitor.

I found a Factory refurbished 2080 from Zotac for under $500. My concern is that it’s a blower style. (Not worried about noise) just worried about heat. I have a full size case with three intake fans and two exhaust fans. Also is located in the basement where it’s cooler.

Would the performance gains be worth it, and should I worry about temperature throttling?

What is your case?

While blower cards do tend to run a little warmer than 2 and 3 fan models, it's completely the opposite in tight spaces, where the standard fan models tend to thermal throttle.
If you have good case cooling, it'll be fine. I'm just worried about the whole refurbished thing.

You can return it if you have problems with it, right? If so, then I say go for it.

Hmm, if that's the case, it's not the greatest in terms of airflow. For reference:

If they allow you to return the card if you run into any issues, I'd say go for it.

Default thermal limit is 83C with a max of 88C.

There's about a 25% improvement going from the 1070Ti to the 2080 at 1440p: https://www.gpucheck.com/compare/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-ti-vs-nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080/amd-ryzen-7-1800x-vs-amd-ryzen-7-1800x/ultra/ultra/-vs-?lang=en&currency=usd
