The Zotac version of the 780 seems to be the most powerful. How does it stack up to a base 780 ti out of the box? I imagine the 780 Ti is stronger, but by how much? Is it even close?

Solution
I have a 780 GHZ and it rocks. i was able to overclock stable to 1215/7208 mhz temps are under 65 deg on auto fans. it will out perform a reference 780 ti no problems. The amp or ghz are about the same. i couldn't justify the extra money for the ti. at 2560x1440 with ultra preset and 4xmsaa im getting between 70-90 fps on bf4 with dips into the mid 50's under extreme scenario's

an oc'd ti will be where it leaves the non ti behind. i would be more concerned with ram as im hitting between 2.4 to 2.8 on the above settings in bf4. so im worried where it will be with future games

BF4 is known to use most of the RAM. I still don't see many future games doing it. BF4 is also poorly optimized. Thanks for your information about the cards.

both watch dogs and wolfienstien do use more vram than bf4 already and with future titles like ut4 and doom on the way im worried im gonna have to start turning down settings. my card isnt even a year old. dont get me wrong the card is awesome and you wont be disappointed. i was just mentioning it as a precaution and to make you aware that it could be a limiting factor in the near future. although there inst any solution in the same price bracket offered from nvidia so we have to suck it up and wait or move to the red team.

I have Watch Dogs almost maxed out with my 670 ftw. I have much more trouble with BF4. Titanfall is completely maxed out other than the 3GB option I can't do. But it's not that big of a deal.

yea i get it. 3GB should last a while i just dont want my $600 investment to need replacing in 6 months time. I would just like to bring it to the attention of others so they can be aware of potential limitations before spending up big. with the 670FTW if your only at 1080 i would try hold out another 6 months for 8XX i think they will be here before the end of the year

I was actually thinking about throwing down $200-$250 for another 670 ftw. It would at least last me the rest of the year. I'm not interested in dual monitor setup or anything like that right now. SLI 670 ftw's pretty much beat any single GPU card right now.

I think you hit the nail on the head. i would go dual 670's. and wait for 8xx a friend of mine just went dual 660ti's and they yeild real close to my 780 sometimes in front depending on sli support.
