I've noticed that this question has been answered, but based on my first gaming PC build which would be a more suitable GPU to use?

Thanks in advance to any replies!

Solution
The RX480 out performs the 1060 in DX12 games and games that use Vulkan. The 1060 performs better in most DX11 games. It all depends on what you will be playing.

I believe you sir are wrong, DX12 is still 1060's throne, Vulkan and OpenGL is 480's throne.

After reading up on it i disagree with you again. They are both trading blows and share extremely close performance outputs. RX480 stomps all over the 1060 with Vulkan but the 1060 stomps all over the 480 in some DX12 games but in most DX12 results they are withing 3-5fps of eachother.

I looked at more benchmarks and you are 100% correct.

Thank you for the replies.

If this is the case than I don't mind a 3-5fps difference, I will buy the Zotac GTX 1060 6GB Mini card then. Should I save up for a better 1060 card or will this do fine for my build? I plan to game at 1080p max settings 60fps+.

If you're only planning on gaming at 1080p then both of these cards will chew through anything you throw at them so its completely up to you :) just do some research on the Vulkan/DX12 aspect to see if the RX480 will be better in the long run or not
