I recently upgraded to a Zotac GTX 1060 6 gb, from an EVGA GTX 950, the card came with an 8+6x2 pcie chord.(the card required an 8 pin, and supposedly it required a psu with 2 6 pin pcie, as thats what the cables that the card came with were) Since my PSU only had one 6 pin available it wondering if it’s my 6 to 8 pin adapter that I’m using, and if it’s the thing causing issues however it worked on the GTX 950.

Occasionally there has been display out of nowhere and the system registers it as a GTX 1060, however when I tried to play Assassins Creed Odyssey, the computer would seemingly crash, and one time turned off. Was it because I didn’t install the drivers from GeForce, or is it just a faulty card??

I’ve been working on this for a while to no avail, so any responses would be appreciated.

Okay so the cables that came with the card look like this

Because theres 2 6 pins on that chord and only one 6 pin on my psu I decided to do this, which worked with my old gtx 950

The reason why I’m asking is because I have a 500w psu, and the psu you sent me has 450w so I’m wondering if your absolutely positive that this is the problem bc it sounds like I’m downgrading my psu. Unless the 450 w has 2 6 pin cables which makes me wonder why a lower wattage has more cables than a higher wattag.
