ZOTAC GTX 1060 No Display despite HDMI connected to monitor

I just bought a zotac 1060 graphic card... When I connected it to my monitor, it shows no signal and hence no display.

However when I connected it to my brother's monitor which is so much newer, it can show display.

My current monitor is an old model of Samsung s23b350h..

Any economical way of solving this without breaking the bank? I m broke now after changing to ryzen 7

Make sure your display is set to use the HDMI port (vice any other ports it has).

You set that via the display's menu. Likely some buttons on the front/side/back that let you adjust the settings of the display itself.

BTW, are you connecting directly HDMI to HDMI or are you using any sort of adapter to connect to your display?
