Zotac gtx 1080

Should i purchase a zotac gtx 1080 amp edition is it a good card or should i go for a asus rog strix card?
The zotac is available for much less than the asus like 75$ less

Both perform almost identical and you would not notice the difference in FPS. Get the one that is less expensive. That said, I'd recommend waiting for Nvidia's GTX 1180 and 1170 respectively. They are both going to be a significant boost over the 1080 according to some estimates of specs.
