[SOLVED] Zotac Gtx 970 Extreme Core Edition

Is Zotac reliable? And whether this card can be powered by corsair vx 550?

From every review I've read, Zotac is always second to the likes of EVGA, ASUS, MSI and GIGABYTE. And yes a 550W is more than enough to power a 970, they're not very power hungry, unless you overclock. May need something beefier to OC. I run mine on a 500W.

Thanks for your opinion. Zotac provides 5 year warranty, so i thought it would be good for next 5 years.

Zotac is a reliable brand in my opinion however I prefer Asus...

What are the rest of your spec's?

Most likely unless you have other components that power Hungar the vx 550 should be enough...

The vx 500 is a low end psu, I would use it in an office pc or a media center pc however not for gaming.

I suggest at least a Corsair Rm series for gaming...

You can also look into other companies such as Seasonic....

My specs are Core i5-4440 and i have 3 hard disk(2TB, 1TB, 500GB SSD).
12 GB Ram Cabinet: Cooler Master CM 690 II.

The psu is 41 A which = 492 watts it's enough however the quality of the psu is my concern.
In theory you should be fine.

492 watts is enough/

A stock 970 uses 145 watts, i can't find how much this model uses however I doubt it uses more than 170 watts.
170 is the wattage used for a stock 980 and 492 watts will power a 980.

Your system will use less than 400 watts under load however the power supply isn't high quality and you might have problems...

Thanks for the info. I checked in this review(http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/7143/zotac-geforce-gtx-970-amp-extreme-core-edition-video-card-review/index12.html), it says 300 watts for battlefield 4. Whats ur opinion?

You have 492 watts and in theory you will be fine. You will be using on 60% of available power.
My only concern is the quality of the PSU.

Thanks man for sharing your thoughts. Last question my PSU has only one 6+@ connector but this card requires two 6+2 connector. What should i do?

I didnt notice it comes with 2 x Dual MOLEX-to-8-pin. Thank you for answering all the queries.

According to the spec's your card has 1 x 6-Pin, 1 x 6+2-Pin.

The card needs 2x 6 pin, you should be okay however the adapters can be used if you need them.
